Day One

We had an uneventful trip from the U.S. to Amsterdam. Flying international business class on British Airways was definitely a treat! 

We arrived at the Hotel Mövenpick in Amsterdam around 5pm on Tuesday. We took the tram to Centraal Station and found a shop where we got SIM cards for our phones. Paying $2.00 per minute to Sprint and Verizon for international roaming was not attractive! Centraal Station is a beautiful building with very interesting architecture. 

We found a nice restaurant for dinner and then headed back to the hotel, where I opened some of my birthday presents. After a long day of travel, we were exhausted and quickly fell asleep. Here is the view looking north from our hotel room window.
